Ready Made Curtains

Ready made curtains are the best products to choose for nearly any window and are available in a wide array of styles. Having products in the colors you want makes hanging new window treatments much more fun and a whole lot  simpler than making your own. Different types of curtain rods make the job even more exciting, as you can mix and match products you think will look best in the room they are going in to.

For rooms with a more traditional style, you can find Priscilla or lace panels, which may look good by themselves or with panels of other materials. They may also work with window scarves or heavier draperies. There are floral prints with ruffled edges or those with simple pinch pleats at the top.

Other traditional styles include sheer panels under heavier solid or print drapes, for a layered look. To make things even simpler, there are double rods available, which are mounted with only one bracket on either side of the window. This makes hanging layers a breeze. While traditional draperies can come in many different colors or styles, the accents, such as valances and scarves, can be coordinated with them as sets or as individual pieces.

For more contemporary looks in a room, tap top panels are a great idea. They are simple, yet very sleek. This style comes in all the same fabrics and color options as the rod pocket panels. If you want to add a bit more character or flair to these panels, buttons or other accents can be attached on the seam where the panels joint the hanging tabs. This helps draw attention upward in the room.

Other modern choices include bold geometric patterns or abstract prints. Color blocks with print background are also fairly new pattern styles in draperies. There are many more options to consider. You can choose to coordinate with furniture colors or to bring out small splashes of color accents in a room. There are many choices for a living room. Many different color combinations can be mixed and matched to accentuate color themes in a room.

For the kitchen, there are many plain panels with metal rings on top, for an additional style element. Cafe style drapes cover the lower half of the window, so you can still look out into the yard or garden. Often the upper half is covered slightly with a short window valance that runs straight across or taper downwards on the outer edges.

Drapes that can be taken home and hung immediately are sold in various ways. Some come in pairs, while others are purchased as separate panels. This is something to consider when comparing prices of curtains and drapes in these different options. Some panels or pairs come with sewn in valances, while others must be attached to the rod separately. There are also complete sets that include a pair of panels, valance and two tie backs. These are really convenient if you need to cover windows in a hurry or don’t want to fuss with coordinating different pieces.
