While curtains are a good option for houses, they are really not practical when it comes to commercial establishments. This has nothing to do with anything other than that curtains 
do not look professional enough.
Most offices and even stores, unless they are selling curtains, will have vertical blinds. The vertical ones are preferred over the horizontal ones because you can get a wider range of materials to choose from for them. Since they are vertical you can even use flexible material, something that you cannot do for the horizontal ones.
While they are very effective there is only one problem with them, and that is that they are quite expensive. While curtains, even the really nice ones, will not cost more than $50 these will very easily cost three times as much. If therefore they get damaged or you need to replace them it is going to be an expensive proposition.
Of course if only a few of the slats are damaged you can very easily get vertical blinds replacement slats. They usually cost between $5 and $15 depending on the quality of the slats that you are going in for. This is usually not a problem unless you have gone and gotten yourself something that is not very commonly found. In this case finding replacement slats may be a bit more difficult, but you can always try online.
Most of these slats have a specific model and colour so that all you have to do is to get the same one and there will not be any problem with getting mismatching colours.
This is of course provided that all that is damaged is the slats. Usually there is very little in the form of damage that anyone can do to these slats. They are quite sturdily made, and since they are made of some sort of synthetic cloth like material, they are also quite durable. In fact they also do not stain very easily, although over time they can get coated with grime.
The biggest problem with these blinds is that they are not proof against people doing things that they are not supposed to. For example in a working environment it is very common to find coffee stains on the slats because they would have spilled, quite by mistake of course, and rather than just leave a couple of such slats there with the stains, it is better to change only those. After all it is the reputation of the organization that is at stake here.
